According to The Sun, England has received another setback ahead of their Euro 2024 Round of 16 clash, with both Rice and Trippier missing training.
England are currently preparing for their Round of 16 match against Slovakia. While Luke Shaw has declared himself fit to return, the team is still unable to train with a full squad.
Foden has returned to England due to the impending birth of his third child with his girlfriend, while Rice and Trippier only trained individually with the assistant coach, not joining the team training.
While Southgate needn’t worry too much about the left-back position, he still has a headache regarding his midfield pairing. Throughout this European Championship, he hasn’t been able to find a suitable partner for Rice. If Rice is also unavailable, Southgate may have to reluctantly turn to Ward-Prowse or Colby Munu.
If England manage to beat Slovakia in this match, they will face the winner of the Italy-Switzerland match in the quarter-finals.
