According to Spanish media outlet Cope, 16-year-old Gavi, who is turning 17 on July 6, passed the ES0 exam, equivalent to the middle school exam, during the European Championships.
Yamal received news that he had passed the exam on Thursday at the Spanish training camp. “The exam? Today, when I left training, I found out that I passed,” said Yamal. “All the pressure is gone.”
In the Spanish national team’s official documentary, they showed footage of Yamal studying hard, and he revealed that he struggled with math and history.
Yamal played in three group stage matches (two starts and one substitute appearance), providing one assist. He is currently preparing for the Round of 16 match against Georgia on July 1 at 3:00 p.m.
