On June 30th, England will face Slovakia in the round of 16 of the European Championship. Kane hinted at reaching peak performance as the knockout stages begin.
In the group stage, Kane was expected to deliver, but his performance fell short, only scoring one goal. The outside world has been critical of Kane’s performance.
Despite his underwhelming group stage performance, Kane isn’t worried. He said: “It’s a natural progression when you’re playing in a tournament. Obviously the more games you play, the fitter you get and the more dangerous you become. I think not just for me, but for a lot of players, they peak in the knockout stages.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming knockout stages, Kane said: “It’s a different kind of game to the group stages. I love the knockout games. We handled them well in the past, and now it’s time to do it again.”
In the 2023-24 season, Kane played 45 games for Bayern, scoring 44 goals and assisting 12 times, a remarkable performance.
