Manchester United starlet Mejbri has had a fantastic season, culminating in him earning a call-up to the England national team. In a recent interview, Mejbri discussed his feelings about it all.
Speaking on his rise, Mejbri said: “It’s all happened very quickly, but I’ve been trying to stay grounded and take things step by step, and so far it’s working.”
On the call-up, Mejbri said: “Whether you’re a professional footballer or a kid watching at home, everyone dreams of putting on the national team shirt and scoring for them. That’s always a dream. If I get the opportunity to be involved with the team and show what I can do, I don’t mind if it’s in attack or defense. I’ll do whatever I can to help the team.”
“When I was younger, I loved playing up front, scoring goals. But now I enjoy defending as well, at club level and international level. I’m a bit frustrated playing up front now because I don’t get the ball as much. I love having the ball at my feet, so I’ve moved back to midfield, where I can also play out wide.”
