Humorous Response! Kroos: I’m Just Clubless, Not Unemployed. Next Up, Launching a Youth Academy

Ahead of the European Championship quarter-finals, German star Toni Kroos humorously responded to reports from Bild about his “unemployment” on his podcast co-hosted with his brother Felix. Following the end of Kroos’ contract with Real Madrid, the German media raised the question of whether he was “unemployed.” Kroos responded with a laugh on the show, saying, “Thank goodness they used the term ‘clubless’ and not ‘unemployed.’ That makes me feel good before the game.”

Felix joked on the show, “I heard you might become the first European Championship winner in Germany without a club. That’s a kind of achievement, too.” Kroos replied, “I haven’t thought about that.”

Felix also revealed, “I heard you still have insurance, so don’t worry too much.”

Bild previously explained that all players called up by the German Football Association are covered by medical insurance provided by the association. Additionally, nearly all players have private health insurance, which includes sick pay protection, ensuring they receive more than six weeks of normal wages even when they are sick or injured.

In reality, Kroos has not fallen into a state of “unemployment.” He still earns income from sponsors. More importantly, he is about to launch a new project – the “Icon League” mini football league.

Kroos also revealed, “I will spend more time with my kids, that’s my top priority. Also, I plan to set up a youth academy in Madrid, dedicated to nurturing young players. So my future will be closely tied to the kids.”

During the European Championship, Kroos has been fully committed to the competition, and he continues to earn income through podcasts, sponsorships, and other avenues. He is also starting to prepare for his youth academy, cultivating the next generation for the world of football.
