Mbappé: Playing with a mask is really uncomfortable, it’s like playing with 3D glasses

Previously, Mbappé suffered a broken nose and was forced to wear a mask to compete. Despite trying several different masks, he still expressed his discomfort with playing with a mask.

Mbappé said: “My nose is already broken, it can’t break again (laughs). But of course I know that when you have this kind of injury, you could become a target for other players. When I decided not to have surgery, I understood these things were waiting for me.”

“But I have to say, playing with this mask is really terrible. I’ve asked to change it several times because it always feels wrong. It also makes playing difficult because your vision is narrowed and sweat drips inside.”

“It’s like I’m playing the European Championship with 3D glasses. I’m a VIP spectator, I can see the players around me, but I don’t feel like I’m playing myself. If I can take it off one day, I will immediately do so. It’s really annoying, but in the end I have to thank my mask because it allows me to continue playing.”
