June 30th, Italy was eliminated from the European Championship in the Round of 16 early this morning. There are concerns about Spalletti’s position as head coach, but today, Italian FA President Gravina confirmed that Spalletti will not be sacked.
He said: “Spalletti has our trust. In 60 days we will have a new game. We just need to value talent, because talent is there. All our youth teams have qualified for the final stages.”
“When we spoke to Spalletti, our goal was 2026. We can set all our expectations, but we must always face reality. No one can guarantee results. We must do our best. We all know that if we don’t qualify for the next World Cup, it will be a real disaster.”
