On July 10th, the British media outlet, The Mirror, exclusively reported that Spanish international Dani Olmo, who is currently playing in the European Championships, has attracted the interest of Chelsea.
It is understood that Olmo’s £50 million release clause with RB Leipzig is expected to be triggered before its deadline next Monday.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has shone for Spain in the 2024 European Championships, scoring three goals and providing two assists, helping them reach the final in Berlin on Sunday – where they will face either England or Netherlands.
The Mirror reports that several clubs from both the Premier League and Spain have shown interest in triggering Olmo’s release clause. Chelsea are among those who are keen on the versatile forward, with Liverpool unlikely to sign him, contrary to reports in Spain.
Last year, Olmo signed a new long-term contract with Leipzig, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
