Koeman: England are distinctive, they may not play brilliantly but they are very hard to beat Ahead of the European Championship semi-final, Netherlands manager Koeman spoke to Dutch media NOS. He hoped the Netherlands could enjoy the moment of the semi-final and hoped the team could go further.

First, he spoke about the game. “It feels special, we have a dream together. The semi-final, in a great stadium, against a great nation, we have the full support of the Dutch fans. We can enjoy the moment, but we want to go a little further.”

He then spoke about the opponents in the game, England. “England have been distinctive in this tournament, they are very hard to beat. They may not have played well, but they have reached the semi-finals. The two teams know each other well. Details will be decisive. Of course, they can do better, but we can also play the perfect game. That is something we haven’t managed to do so far.”

NOS also revealed that if the Netherlands end up winning the cup, captain Van Dijk could be able to show off the trophy in front of the audience in Amsterdam the day after the victory.
