With the Euro final between England and Spain fast approaching on July 13, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has weighed in with his prediction for the match, suggesting a 2-1 victory for the Three Lions.
Rooney said: “I thought England played really well in the last game against the Netherlands. They should have won that game. It will be a very exciting final, a lot of young, exciting players on the pitch. I’m sure it’ll be a good game, close, but I think England might edge it.”
On Southgate’s potential starting lineup, Rooney added: “I think Gareth will do the same (as the Netherlands semi-final), but I think Luke Shaw could start, the rest of the team will stay the same.”
