Mirror Reveals England’s Championship Celebration Plans: Meeting with Royals and Prime Minister on Monday, Public Parade on Tuesday

After their dramatic semi-final win over the Netherlands, England are set to face Spain in the European Championship final on Monday at 3 AM. According to British media outlet The Mirror, if England manage to win the final, they will have a grand celebration in place.

Firstly, on Monday, the day after the final, members of the royal family, led by King Charles and current FA President Prince William, will host a reception for the England team at Buckingham Palace. After their meeting with the royal family, the England team will head to Downing Street, where they will be received by the newly appointed Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer. Starmer, an Arsenal fan himself, will also be attending the final in Berlin.

On Tuesday, the England team will be partaking in a public parade, celebrating with the public. Of course, if England ultimately loses to Spain and fails to win the championship, the victory parade will not take place. However, the FA is aware that they must prepare for a potential win, and have already made contact with the Metropolitan Police, the City of London Corporation, and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

This method of celebration echoes that of England’s Rugby World Cup victory in 2003. The England rugby team visited Buckingham Palace to meet with Queen Elizabeth, and then took a bus to Trafalgar Square for a public parade.
