England captain Harry Kane attended a press conference ahead of the European Championship semi-final between Netherlands and England, which takes place on July 11th at 3:00 AM.
Kane said: “The formation change doesn’t really affect me. If Bellingham or Foden are in the middle, I might move to the outside. Tomorrow, I want to get into the box more and try to give them trouble in places they don’t want to face me.”
“Depay and Weghorst are two different strikers, whoever plays will have a different impact for the Netherlands. From our perspective, we always analyse the opposition and see where they can hurt us. They are both great strikers, reaching the European Championship semi-finals proves their quality, so keeping them quiet will be a tough task.”
“De Ligt is my teammate at Bayern, I’m not sure if he’ll start tomorrow. And I’ve faced Van Dijk many times over the years, we’ve had some good battles. Whoever plays will be tough to deal with. But I enjoy playing against the best players in the world, that’s why you want to be in these games.”
“I know what pressure we’re under, but we’re not going to discuss that in the dressing room. We seniors know what it feels like to represent England at international tournaments. As we get better, the expectation grows, and that’s normal. Maybe the expectation and attention is higher on us now, but I think we’re handling it well. Reaching the European Championship final twice would be a great achievement and we have a chance to do it.”
